Dumbarton 9/26/2016

Hello Family!

This week has been great! We got our Moves Call. I am Moving... I am going to Galashiels which is a area that boarders England. I am going to be with Elder Watson. I served in the same district as him when I was in Sligo. We are White washing Galashiels together. Its going to be fun.

Elder Roylance Is moving as well. He is going to Northern Ireland!

Its going to be a crazy week but here is how my week went last week!

Monday we went to Loch Lomond for a Loch Cruise. Before the Cruise we ate at one of the Best ranked Fish and Chip place in the area. It was so good. The Cruise was great. I will include some pictures in the email. Afterwards we got Deep Fried Mars bars at the same Restaurant. I have to say it, it was really good!

This week we taught a new friend named Martin. We met with him and shared with him the Restoration. The lesson was alright. He isn't interested in joining the church, he says. Hopefully he will see the importance of our message!

On sunday we gave talks. I talked on the Atonement. I love speeching on the Atonement. I feel the spirit so strong when I share my testimony! I am grateful that I was able to speech to the Dumbarton Ward.

That was a basic some up of my week. I don't have that much time to email since I have to pack .

Dumbarton 9/19/2016

I can't believe I've been out a year!

This week we were not able to teach anyone but we found some great people that we will start teaching!

Here are the highlights of the week!

Tuesday we had district meeting! We talked a lot on bearing our testimony frequently.

I also got my Hamilton tartan tie. Its a great tie!

We've been doing more tracting here because we have found more success doing that then street contacting. While we were tracting out in Helensburgh, we met a cool guy named Martin. He is a photographer which is cool since I love Photography as well. We are hopefully meeting him this Wednesday.

While shopping on monday, we found some dragon fruit. We decided to try some! Its so good!. It stinks that its £2 for this small little fruit.

At ASDA (Our grocery store, actually owned by Walmart) during the evening they have to get rid of the baked goods before they "go bad". They sell everything for 10 pence which is equal to 13 cents in the U.S.A. I got a nice big Cherry pie and Apple tarts for a grand total of 20 pence. That is how we celebrated my one year mark!

On the Family history side of things, I found out some cool things! So James Hamilton was baptized in Greenock Scotland. Helensburgh, where we do a lot of finding, is right across from Greenock! He also worked on the Glasgow rail which is cool, because I travel the rails of Glasgow a lot!

We had dinner at the Gallachers and Coupers this week! I love the members here!

That was basically the week!
This coming Sunday is our moves call! Whats going to happen?

Also next Monday our library is closed so hopefully I will able to email at the church or something! Just letting you know in case there is no email!

I hope you all have a great week

Dumbarton 9/12/16

This week has been interesting,
Here's how it went:

So on Tuesday we went to Glasgow for our district meeting! All 3 districts in the Glasgow Zone met together! It was great. We talked a lot about the true teacher, The Holy Ghost! There was also a scripture that was shared about learning. It was in the 3 Nephi 17 2-3. It reads:

2 I perceive that ye are weak, that ye cannot understand all my words which I am commanded of the Father to speak unto you at this time.

3 Therefore, go ye unto your homes, and ponder upon the things which I have said, and ask of the Father, in my name, that ye may understand, and prepare your minds for the morrow, and I come unto you again.
So a background to this scripture. Jesus Christ visits and teaches the people in the Americas. He is the master teacher. The amazing thing is, is that he knows them. He knows that they can't not understand everything so quickly. He directs them to go and ponder and ask the Father for understanding. I think that is great! Jesus Christ gives us a way to understand! We must follow his council and we shall receive the knowledge we need!

After our district/zone meeting! I was able to take a one year picture with Elder Davis! Its crazy that we have been in the same zone 3 times!

Afterwards is where the week started to be interesting. We were walking to our district leaders flat (because we were going on exchanges). I slipped on some steps and torn my suit trousers. How great! Good thing I have a spare suit! All I can say is that gave me a big head ache.

After that mess we headed in to the Glasgow city center. I got to ride on the Glasgow subway for the first time. It was really cool. I was a small map compared to New York but it was cool! It is the 3rd oldest Subway in the World!

It was a great day of finding! Elder Clay, one of my Zone Leaders, thinks I sound like Seth Rogan. He used my voice to stop people. Apparently a lot of Glaswegians (people of Glasgow) think I sound like Seth Rogan, very interesting!

Wednesday, we headed back to Dumbarton. We did some finding and visited the Gallacher's for dinner.

The next morning. I woke up with what we think was the Flu. This lasted for a couple of days. I don't like being stuck in sick ever since i was in the hospital back in February for a week!

Sunday, the sickness started to lift. I was glad I was able to go to church!

As you can see it was a very interesting week! Hopefully this week will go better! I can't believe I hit one year on Saturday!

I hope you have all have a great week!

Dumbarton 9/5/2016

This week was really interesting. We didn't have any teaching appointments but a lot happened.

Here is how the week went.

On Monday we went over Sister O'Rawes house. She fed us mac & cheese and chips (french fries). It was really good. We shared a message about prayer afterwards with her. We shared James 1:5 with her about asking God for knowledge and answers then tied it into Moroni 10:3-5 about we can do that!

On Tuesday we went to Glasgow to go on exchanges. I was with Elder Kroes, who is brand new to the mission. He is from Germany. We had a great day of finding!

On Wednesday we had our Glasgow Zone Conference! We received instruction on following the schedule/urgency, the role of the Holy Ghost in Conversion, and having a member present in lessons. I really enjoyed what was said. I had a great interview with President Donaldson. It really motivated me for the rest of the week! I also saw Elder Davis and Elder Van Staden there. They are companions right now. It was great to see them! I got one of my Tartan ties I ordered. The one that came from the Mission home was the Morrison Red tartan!

After Zone Conference, we hurried back for our dinner at the Gallachers.

The rest of the week we spent finding! We really have been focusing now on following the spirit while we find!

During lunch on Friday, I made bread. It turned out well. I made the dough during Lunch and we baked it for Dinner!

Sunday was great. In the evening we went to the Gallachers and we taught them the Restoration, afterwards we discussed their family mission plan!

That was our week. Sorry for such a short email. I hope this week we can see progress!

I hope you all have a great week

Love,

Elder Joseph Udy
