June 26th 2017 Cumbernauld Scotland

June 26th 2017 Cumbernauld Scotland

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a great week!

For P-day we went into Glasgow. I picked up some items for my Kilt! I met a member of the church from Ontario. I told him that I grew up in Niagara Falls. We talked a bit about the Hill Cumorah Pageant.

Tuesday we had the Scotland South Conference in Edinburgh. It was a very inspiring conference. Instruction was given on Christ’s Church, The Apostasy and the Restoration. It was my second last conference, it's so weird how fast time flies!

On Wednesday we had interviews President Donaldson! I always enjoy my interviews with Him. I am grateful that he is my Mission President. He is very understanding and Christlike!

Friday, I was up in Edinburgh again for a doctor's appointment. Let me just say that travel just takes all the energy out of me!

John, our investigator, had us over for dinner that night. He made his fish and chips… So good!

Saturday, Ann Harrison took us to Beef Eater again. She helped me order the rest of the things for my kilt!

On Sunday we saw John again, we talked about Baptism with him. He addressed a concern that he fears that he won’t be able to keep the commitments he would make. We talked about that as men that we can’t perfect. That is what the Gospel is for. Repent, Repair, and Push on. Our Heavenly Father, expects us to do our best!

For the rest of the time we had free this week, which wasn't a lot, we spent finding!

Hopefully this week will be great!

This morning I was listening to a Talk given by Richard G. Scott in the April 2007 General Conference. He talks about why and how we Pray! He talks about getting answers to prayers! It was really eye opening to me. If you have time, it's a great talk!

I hope you all have a wonderful week

Love,

Elder Joseph Udy

 June 19th 2017 Cumbernauld, Scotland

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful week!

My Left knee is still in the recovery process! I bought a knee brace so hopefully that helps!

In District meeting, I was asked to prepare a short spiritual thought on The role of Charity in Missionary work! I have found it very important that Missionaries develop this attribute in order to successful. Charity is the pure love of Christ. How could we do this work unless we follow after our Master, Jesus Christ. We must love the people as he did.

We spent most of the time this week working on our list of former investigators and potential investigators! We found a few people in and they told us to try by this week. So hopefully that goes well!

On Thursday, the Rotary Club members that manage the Garden we volunteer at, invited us to dinner at one of the Golf Courses here in Cumbernauld.

Not too much else happened this week except the many times I had to Ice my leg!

We have Scotland South Conference, Interviews, and Exchanges this week so it will be crazy with travel!

I hope you all have a wonderful week!
Love,

Elder Joseph Udy

    Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a great week!

We had a very crazy/interesting week

We were up in Glasgow for district meeting on Tuesday. Elder Baklan became the district leader and he did great for his first District meeting as District leader!

Wednesday, Ann Harrison took us out to eat. She took us to the Beefeater again! It was a good time!

This week we have been going through a list of former investigators/potentials that have been found in the past 5 years or so. We set up some appointments for this week so it should be a good week

On Thursday, we were over in Edinburgh because I had a doctor's appointment. Before catching a train back to Glasgow, we were able to see Elder Richard’s Recent Convert from Dalkeith.

Early Friday morning we had a district hike up into the Campsie Fells. It was a wet morning.

It was a great hike. Towards the end of the hike, I slipped and sprained my ankle pretty bad. I was in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary because of how bad it was hurting. So the rest of the week had just been recovering.

That was pretty much our week! I hope you all have a great week

Love,

Elder Joseph Udy
