Hello
Everyone!
I hope you
all had a wonderful week!
This past
week in the Scotland/Ireland Mission has been really crazy!
Well I
started my travels to Cumbernauld on Wednesday night. We took the 3 hour bus
from Dumfries to Edinburgh. We stayed in the Zone Leader’s flat. In the morning
they dropped me off at Haymarket train station. I arrived in Glasgow at around
10. Elder Fehoko was there and we took a bus from there to Cumbernauld.
Let me tell
you something about Cumbernauld. They decided to build the M80 (motorway) right
through it. The town centre, centre sits above the M80. It makes cumbernauld
look like a big airport. You’ll just have to look it up on google to see what I
mean!
Elder Fehoko
is a great missionary. He is from Tonga. He is also probably one of the
funniest companions, I’ve had on my mission.
On Friday we
helped out the rotary club with some service. There is a Garden right near our
Flat called Peace Garden. We helped plant bushes and get rid of dead plants and
bushes. It was a great time!
In the
afternoon we saw a less active member named Shirley. We talked about why God
has given us the Word of Wisdom!
Friday night
we went to a Inactive members house. He ordered us fish and chips. So Good they
were!
The
cumbernauld ward is very interesting.
The Bishop plays the organ. Members were looking up the football scores during
Priesthood. They are really friendly! The Bishop talked about missionary work
in priesthood. He discussed how members can better help the missionaries.
Sunday, a Tongan/New Zealand family from the other ward had us over. They found out that
Elder Fehoko was from Tonga, and they were excited to meet him. The Father who
was from Tonga, spoke with Elder Fehoko in Tongan. They fed us a feast. It was
so good. The dad plays Rugby for Glasgow. We helped give their son a blessing
because he wasn't doing so good.
It's been a
short few days here but I look forward to this week!
Today we are
in Glasgow. Most of the missionaries in Glasgow are getting together to play a
game of B-ball. It should be fun!
I hope you all have a great week
Love,
Elder Joseph
Udy
